This is a solid read, but I miss the dark magic feel of the original Darkyn series. I just don't get this series and why it's a spin-off. The characters and worlds in this book are all mostly from the Darkyn world, which should make me happy, but as much as I thoroughly enjoyed the idea of getting Jamys's story, I couldn't help but feel as though something is ... missing... that I used to find in the Darkyn books. This book was boring. I don't know if I'll continue with this series, and that makes me sad. Ah well.
